Greater Vancouver Food Bank (Kids' Picks)

[From the website] Kids’ Picks is in its sixth year and provides preschoolers aged 18 months to 6 years with a supplemental bag of healthy, ready-to-eat snacks that will ensure they receive all the essential vitamins and minerals needed for proper growth and development. Each bag also includes important information for parents on childhood nutrition and good eating habits.

1200 Kids’ Picks bags are prepared by volunteers each month. The product that is used for these special bags is purchased by the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society to ensure proper nutrition

Share Food Bank (Tiny Bundles)

[From their website] Tiny Bundles is a new program of the SHARE Food Bank designed to provide fresh foods to pregnant/nursing women and young children every week. For two years SHARE (with seed money from Fraser Health and some community donations) has been able to provide dairy, protein and fresh produce along with a weekly food bank hamper to pregnant women and children under one year of age.

There are one and two year old children whose families depend on our food bank who would greatly benefit from this enhanced program, but we don’t have the financial resources to help them. The added Tiny Bundles groceries costs $10/week ($40/month) and we currently serve 90 children. Help us meet our current demands by sponsoring a child. Your commitment will then help us to expand and include the 84 one year olds and 84 two year olds whose families are currently using the food bank into the Tiny Bundles program.
