To raise money for local Food Bank charities, Tanya & Jeff Harrison of Veridamo Photography are looking for children in the Metro Vancouver area to photograph for the THIRD edition of our fine art coffee table book.
The 2010 edition was another fantastic success and we thank everyone who allowed us the opportunity to capture the unique stories of so many children. |
Have your child's unique story captured:
- Receive a Professional Portrait Session at a location around Metro Vancouver
- A stunning image of your child will appear in the book (an entire page)
- Books will be available for purchase at the end of the year.
- All for a $100 donation to one of two food bank programs (If you have more than one child, each additional child is an additional $25 donation)

Step 1: Nomination The first step is to fill out the online Nomination Form and we will call you back to arrange a quick consultation. Or if you prefer call us directly at the studio at 604 910 7020.
Step 2: Consultation The consultation is an opportunity to learn more about your family and what you expect from a photography session. We discuss location, clothing options, your child's likes and dislikes, props to bring, pricing and whether you are interested in albums or gift prints or custom art pieces to hang on your wall.
Step 3: Photo Session Next of course is the photo session, to be done at an outdoor location in Metro Vancouver (a favourite park or beach or playground or even your own home). If you would like to have a family portrait sitting at the same time, this is a great opportunity as well.
Step 4: Viewing Approximately 1-2 weeks after the photo session you visit the studio for a Viewing Session where we unveil the images that have forever captured your child. This is when you decide which images you must have and whether they hang on the wall, go into a small album or maybe are given as gifts for Christmas.You are under no obligation to purchase any prints.
At the end of the year we will publish the Kids of vancouver 2011 coffee table book and included in the book will be one image from your child's session. (you will need to pre-order to reserve your copy)

The Kids Of Vancouver book project is an opportunity to realize all of the above - to showcase in your home fantastic works of art featuring your children and your family with the benefit of knowing you helped other families in need.

An Important Message for Mom and Dad
A well cared for print or album will outlast the subjects in the photograph. These photographs then become an important treasure, valued beyond measure, when a loved one dies. They allow us to hold on to that person, to be reminded from time to time about their special place in our life.
Do you have a photograph of yourself with your own Mom? With your Dad? How treasured are those photos? If you don't yet, how will you feel once they are gone and it's too late?
Hopefully you are fortunate to have at least a few photographs with your parents. That they took the time to be photographed with you because they realized that the photograph wasn't for them. They were just the temporary custodians. The photograph was for you all along.
We know most of you moms and dads are camera shy. We all are, and we bet your parents were too. But your children don't care how you look or that you weren't at your best on that day. Please don't let your children regret not having any photographs of themselves with you.
Our motto at Veridamo Photography is
See How Love Feels. If you haven't already, go grab your digital camera and make sure to capture some images of you, yes you, interacting with your children. Please give them that memory to forever remind them of how much they were loved. And you don't even need a professional photographer to do it.

| Kids Picks (Greater Vancouver Food Bank) |

Kids’ Picks is in its sixth year and provides preschoolers aged 18 months to 6 years with a supplemental bag of healthy, ready-to-eat snacks that will ensure they receive all the essential vitamins and minerals needed for proper growth and development. Each bag also includes important information for parents on childhood
nutrition and good eating habits. |
| Tiny Bundles (Share Food Bank) |

Tiny Bundles is a new program of the SHARE Food Bank designed to provide fresh foods to pregnant/nursing women and young children every week. For two years SHARE (with seed money from Fraser Health and some community donations) has been able to provide dairy, protein and fresh produce along with a weekly food bank hamper to pregnant women and children under one year of age. |

How much is the donation?
The donation is $100 for the first child and $25 for each additional child.
Which charity receives my donation?
The donation amount is sent to either the Share Society food bank or the Greater Vancouver Food Bank depending on where you live.
What is included with the donation?
Veridamo Photography normally charges a photographic session fee but for the book project is accepting a donation in leiu of the session fee. It covers the meetings and photography session only. The Kids of Vancouver book is sold seperately. Purchasing any prints or wall portraits or albums is completely optional.
Is the donation tax deductable?
Yes - a tax receipt will be issued in your name.
Where can I purchase the book?
It will only be available for purchase from our studio and will be ready before the end of the year, making it an excellent Christmas gift for other family members.
Can we have an In-Studio session if we prefer?
Absolutely. In fact for small babies we almost always photograph the session in our studio.
Do we choose the location?
Yes, we work with you to pick a location that is either special to your family or represents the type of activities your children perform.
Can we do a family portrait at the same time?
Absolutely. There are some restrictions and the logistics can be somewhat different but we'll work with you to schedule a session where all family members attend and are photographed together.
Is there an age limit?
We aren't enforcing a strict age limit but generally we recommend elementary school age or younger.
